Wingrove Massage Therapy & L’Arche Canada

L’Arche began in 1964 when Canadian and Templeton Prize winner, Jean Vanier, invited three men from a local institution to live with him and create home together in Trosly-Breuil,France. Jean was horrified by society’s disdain for these men and others like them. Today L’Arche is an international network of 147 communities in 35 countries where people with and without intellectual disabilities live, work, and create home together. Here in the Danforth area of Toronto, there are four L’Arche Homes.
Karen Wingrove, founder of Wingrove Massage Therapy, was introduced to the L’Arche community soon after graduating in 1998. Everyone here works with members of the L’Arche community that have disabilities along with those who do not.
We also participate in special events and fundraisers. This community has come to mean a great deal to all of us here at Wingrove Massage Therapy. It has truly been a heart opening experience to work with and get to know the people of L’Arche Toronto
On June 8, 2017 we participated in the Twist and Sip fundraiser. Wingrove Massage Therapy raised close to $1000. 100% of the funds we raised will be allocated to providing massage to L’Arche members. We are very proud of this achievement and look forward to our ongoing relationship with this wonderful organization.
